A visit records someone who came with no booking and no class, such as an open gym or an open mat. It is written as an attendance, once per person and per day.

What a visit is#
Path: the Counter › Entrance check › Check in without a session.
A visit is someone who comes to train with no class booked: a weights area, an open mat, an open wall. It is written as an attendance with no class attached, so it counts like any other attendance: visits in total, last visit, streak, Checked in today, and the first visit automation.
On a phone, open the member, tap Check in, and pick Without a session in the list of sessions. The line reads Here without a booking, or Already checked in today and greyed out when the person already has an attendance that day.
One visit per person and per day#
If the person already has an attendance that day, a class or a visit, nothing more is written and nothing is charged. The day is the day of your gym, not the day of the device.
A visit has only two states, present or cancelled. It cannot be booked ahead and it cannot be marked absent.
What it costs the member#
It uses the member's plan the way a class check-in does: an unlimited plan first, otherwise one credit from a pack. A plan with a time window is judged at the hour the person arrives. Outside the window the plan does not pay, and the visit is recorded anyway, because the desk never blocks an entrance.
If the plan has a daily or weekly limit and it has been reached, the software asks Book them in anyway? before it writes anything.
Troubleshooting
What a visit does not do
A visit starts the First check-in automation, but not Session completed, because there is no class to complete. It does not appear in the expected list of a class, or in the monthly report.
Everywhere else it is named Visit: in Recent visits on the member, in the timeline and in the attendance export.
A member cannot check themselves in without a class from their own space. Only your staff can.
