The short answer

For gyms in Thailand and SE Asia, MoveMembers fits better

If your members live on LINE and you want a Thai interface, MoveMembers is the better fit: native LINE messaging (PushPress has none), a UI in Thai and nine other languages, and flat pricing with messaging included instead of a $329/mo add-on. PushPress is still excellent, especially for CrossFit boxes and US gyms with its mature workout tracking and larger install base.

By size

Which one fits a gym your size

Under 25 members
Free tier

PushPress if you take almost nothing by card: their free tier has no member cap, and ours does. MoveMembers as soon as card payments are real, because 4.99% on a small volume already outweighs a subscription neither of you is paying.

25 to 100 members
Pro tier

MoveMembers. Ninety-nine dollars against a hundred and fifty-nine, no processing premium, and LINE included rather than absent. This is the band where the gap is widest.

Above 100 members
Max tier

MoveMembers on price, PushPress on CrossFit-specific tooling and its US ecosystem. Max is $199 with several locations; their comparable stack is reported around $559 plus processing.

Which should you choose?

Choose MoveMembers if

You run a gym in Thailand or Southeast Asia and your members live on LINE, you need a Thai or otherwise localized interface, or you want messaging included in a flat published price rather than a separate CRM module plus higher processing. It is also a natural home for Muay Thai, MMA and BJJ academies that want belt tracking with local-first communication.

Choose PushPress if

You run a CrossFit box or a US-based gym that benefits from its mature workout tracking, leaderboards and polished branded member app, you value a large well-reviewed platform with a big install base, or your members do not use LINE and English is fine. Its CrossFit depth and unlimited free-tier headcount may serve you better.

The real bill

What it costs over a year

Run the arithmetic on a gym collecting two hundred thousand baht a month, mostly by card. On PushPress Pro that is $159 a month plus 2.89% and thirty cents a charge; the processing alone is roughly the price of the subscription again. On MoveMembers Pro it is {proThb} baht a month plus your own Stripe rate, paid to Stripe rather than to us.

The free plans compare the same way and in the opposite direction of what the headline suggests. Theirs has no member cap, which is genuinely more generous, and it is funded by a 4.99% rate on every card charge. A gym collecting little by card is better off there. A gym that collects by card is paying for the free plan several times over.

Five questions to put to them in writing

A demo answers what the software does. These answer what it will cost you and what happens if you leave, which is what you cannot undo.

  • What is the processing rate on the tier I would actually be on?
  • Which modules do I need for messaging, and what do they cost together?
  • Is the international price different from the published US one?
  • Does the branded app carry an extra monthly fee, and for how long a term?
  • Can I export members, memberships and attendance, and in what format?
Straight answer

What MoveMembers does not do

  • No CrossFit-specific programming tooling. PushPress grew inside that world and its whiteboard, benchmark and programming features go deeper than ours.
  • A smaller US integration ecosystem. If your accounting, your access control and your marketing stack all expect an American platform, they will have connectors for theirs and not for ours.
  • A member cap on the free tier. Theirs has none, and that is genuinely more generous for a gym that takes little by card.
  • No payment processing of our own. You bring your Stripe account, which means we cannot subsidise a free plan with a processing margin, and it also means we never take a cut of your money.

The processing point cuts both ways and deserves the arithmetic rather than the adjective. Their free plan is real, and it is funded by 4.99% on every card charge. A gym collecting fifty thousand baht a month by card pays about two thousand five hundred baht for that free plan; a gym collecting two hundred thousand pays ten thousand. Ours costs nothing and caps the member count instead.

Neither model is dishonest. They are two ways of being paid, and which one is cheaper depends entirely on how much of your revenue arrives by card, which is something you already know and we do not.

Origins

Who each product was built for

PushPress was built inside CrossFit, in the United States, for gyms that run programmed sessions, track benchmarks and take payment by card. Its pricing model follows from that: bundled processing makes sense when practically every member pays by card, and the modules make sense when a large box wants a branded app and a marketing suite.

MoveMembers was built with martial-arts gyms and studios in Thailand, where a member pays by PromptPay transfer, books through LINE, and trains in two disciplines with a different grade in each. The processing model follows from that too: when half the money arrives outside card rails, a platform funded by a percentage of card volume is funded by the wrong half of your revenue.

The result is that the two products are strongest at opposite ends. A CrossFit box in Denver should probably read their page rather than this one. A fight gym in Chiang Mai has almost nothing to gain from a benchmark board and a great deal to gain from a LINE channel.

FAQ

PushPress vs MoveMembers, answered.

For most Thai gyms, yes, on fit rather than raw features. MoveMembers has native LINE messaging and a Thai interface, while PushPress has no LINE support and appears English-first. Since LINE is used by roughly 84% of Thai internet users, that channel matters. PushPress remains excellent, but it was built US-first, so weigh your members' habits.

Both publish core tiers and both have a real free plan. MoveMembers is a flat $0/$99/$199 with messaging included and no transaction commission. PushPress is $0/$159/$229, but it monetizes payments (4.99% on the free plan down to 2.75% on Max) and charges extra for modules like Grow ($329) and the branded app, so a full stack can reach roughly $559/month.

We found no LINE support anywhere in PushPress. Its only over-the-top messaging option is WhatsApp, available only inside the Grow add-on and subject to Meta verification. We also could not find evidence of a Thai-language interface, so PushPress appears English-first. MoveMembers offers native LINE plus WhatsApp, email and SMS, and a UI in Thai and nine other languages.

Yes, in principle. MoveMembers is self-serve and reports going live in an afternoon, with data export and no lock-in on its side. You would export your member, membership and schedule data from PushPress and import it. We have not verified a one-click PushPress importer, so plan for a manual data transfer and reconnecting your payment and LINE or WhatsApp providers.

PushPress is often the stronger pick for CrossFit boxes and US-based gyms. It is purpose-built for CrossFit affiliates with mature workout logging, PRs and leaderboards, a polished branded member app, and a large, well-reviewed install base across many countries. If your members do not use LINE, English is fine, and you want that CrossFit depth, PushPress is a very credible choice.
