Dance studios in Thailand

Dance studio software in Thailand, built around baht, PromptPay and LINE

Picture the floor of a dance studio in Thailand on a weekday evening. A few dancers have been coming every week for a year. Others bought a card for the month they are in town. One person walked in because the door was open. This page is about selling to all of them from a single timetable, priced in baht, with payment methods and a chat app they already use.

Who is on the floor

Four kinds of dancer, one file each

On paper you have to remember who holds what. Here each dancer is one file, and whatever they bought hangs off that file as a pass with its own rules.

Regulars on a plan

A weekly or monthly plan shows its start and end date on the file, so you can see who is about to lapse and message them before they drift away.

Ten-class cards

One card works across hip-hop, Latin or contemporary. Each booking takes one credit, and a cancellation made in time puts it back.

First-timers

A public trial link takes a name and a way to reach the person, nothing more, and holds their place. If they like it, the desk sells them a card under that same name.

Time away

A card can be paused. Its end date moves back by the length of the pause, so a dancer who spends a month abroad comes home to the credits they paid for.

In baht

Baht prices, and payment the way people actually pay

Every price is in baht, from the catalogue to the member area. At the desk the software draws a PromptPay QR with the amount already encoded, or you log cash or a bank transfer. Each payment can get a numbered receipt with your tax number on it.

Card payments on the web land in your own Stripe account, and MoveMembers keeps no cut. PromptPay at online checkout depends on Stripe too: it appears only if you have switched it on there, so look before you promise it to anyone.

Dancers who stay a long time have two ways to pay monthly by card, and the dancer decides. Either a large plan is cut into a set number of monthly payments that ends by itself, or a plan that renews can be put on auto-pay from the dancer's own page. For that second route the studio has to allow it first: it is off by default, it needs Stripe connected, and a class card is never charged this way.

The timetable

Several rooms, several teachers, one weekly grid

Each session carries its teacher's name and a level, for example adult beginner contemporary or junior hip-hop. Anyone browsing can tell which class is theirs, and at month end you can read how many sessions each teacher was scheduled to take. When one teacher covers another for a single session, change the name on that session only and dancers see the right name when they book.

Places follow the size of the room. A full class has a waitlist, and when someone cancels the first person in line is moved up and told. The other rules are set once for the whole studio: how far ahead booking opens, the last moment to cancel and still keep the credit, what happens to someone who books and vanishes, and a gap between two classes in the same room so the floor can clear.

Workshops and socials

A workshop or a social night is a session of its own

A guest teacher's weekend workshop, a holiday intensive or an evening social do not behave like a weekly class. Open each one as a separate, separately named session with its own number of places, and say which cards count for it. People can book ahead, or you can record them at the door.

A single ticket is taken at the desk in cash, by transfer or by PromptPay, with a numbered receipt. There is no separate ticketing site for parties, and nothing pairs dancers up. You can see how many have booked, so you know when to add a teacher to rotate partners.

LINE

Booking that carries on from the chat

Drop the link to your member area into the studio's LINE chat and the dancer can book from there, in the browser LINE opens, with nothing to install. Confirmations, reminders before class and receipts leave from your own account over LINE or email, free plan included. What you do not get is a booking screen built into LINE or an app in the phone stores, so reminders arrive as messages and not as push notifications.

Teachers

Two ways to pay a teacher

One teacher is paid per class, another per dancer who turned up. Give each teacher either rate or both, and the monthly report works out the pay for the dates you choose and exports it. That report sits under Reports, so it needs Pro.

Progress

Flexibility and levels, if your studio tracks them

Studios that grade their dancers or measure flexibility can use the Performance module. A ready-made Dance flexibility set measures the front split, the side split and the back bend in centimetres as a gap, where a smaller gap is the better result. A level can be picked from a list you write yourself, such as Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Body measurements and levels are never ranked and never shown to another dancer. Readings are typed in by your team or the dancer. There is no link to any measuring device. The module is included in every plan, and you choose what a dancer sees.

Limits

What it does not do

  • No parent login that ties a mother's children together. Each dancer is a separate entry, booked on their own, and whoever pays still gets the receipt
  • Nothing to organise a year-end show or sell tickets to one
  • Past 20 active members you need a paid plan to add members, send messages or take payments. The timetable and check-in carry on

Questions owners ask

Does it work for a dance studio in Thailand?

Yes. Prices are in baht, a PromptPay QR can be made at the desk, receipts are numbered with your tax number and reminders go through LINE. Your team can work in Thai while a visiting dancer reads their own page in English.

How is this different from the dance school page?

The dance school page is about running a school with teachers, levels and students of all ages, wherever it is. This one starts from Thailand and from a studio with a mixed floor: baht, PromptPay, LINE, visitors and workshops. If you teach children and parents pay for them, read the dance school software page as well.

Can a guest teacher's workshop have its own places and price?

Yes. Open it as its own session with its own number of places and say which cards apply. A single ticket is taken at the desk, with a receipt. The software does not run a separate ticket shop.

Can a parent book two children from one login?

Not yet. There is no parent account linking several children, so each child is a separate dancer, booked separately and charged against their own card. Whoever pays still receives the receipt, and two siblings in the same level simply appear as two names on that session's list.
