Class booking through LINE, started from your own gym's chat
Many members do not want another app from their gym, but they already message on LINE. So booking starts where they already are: you send a link in the chat, they pick a class, the seat comes off at once, and a full class takes a waitlist. This page also says what LINE does not do, before you sign up.
- Free forever
- No credit card
- No sales call

Bookings sit in the chat, and the headcount sits in an admin's head
Most gyms and camps do not lack online class booking. They lack booking that accepts that customers always start from LINE. A message arrives asking whether there is room tomorrow at seven, and the admin scrolls back through chats to count heads before replying.
The cause is the same every time: the channel customers use and the place where the data is kept are not the same place. The seats, the classes left on a card and the list of who is coming live in a notebook or a spreadsheet that only the person at the desk can open. Every time the two meet, they meet through human effort, and human effort disappears late at night, on holidays, or the day the admin who remembers everything resigns.
Bookings live in the chat
Somebody asks if there is room tomorrow at seven, and the admin scrolls through old messages to count heads before answering.
A class fills without anyone noticing
With no real cap on seats, five people are standing at class time. The coach cannot look after everyone and the early arrivals lose out.
The waitlist is chased by hand
Someone cancels in the afternoon, and by the time anyone messages the next name it is evening. The seat is gone.
Booked, then not turning up
A seat is held for someone who never arrives while another person wanted it, and there is no house rule to lean on.
Classes left counted by hand
A ten-class card is ticked off in a notebook, and the answer to how many are left depends on who is at the desk that day.
From a message in LINE to a name on the class list
You send the link to your member area into the chat. The member taps it and it opens in LINE's own browser. They choose a class, and the seat comes off straight away. If the booking is paid with a pack, the credit comes off too, and goes back in full if they cancel before your cut-off.
Said plainly: booking does not live inside LINE as a mini-app. There is no rich menu or LIFF screen. The link opens your member area in the in-app browser, which is the tap members already make.
The same member area is where people see their booked classes, the classes left on a pack, their payment history and receipts. When those questions answer themselves, the desk gets back hours a week instead of typing how many are left ten times a day.
- Members book and cancel classes themselves from the member area
- A full class takes a waitlist automatically
- Credits come off at booking and return in full on a cancellation made in time
- Packs with no cap on classes are supported
- Staff check people in, or members scan the kiosk QR at the desk and check in from their phone
- Set seats per class, and change a single date without touching the recurring class
- Close one class on one date, and open it again later
- Announce a closure once and the whole month's timetable updates
LINE talks both ways, the other channels only send
We say which channel can take a reply, because it changes how the desk actually works.
LINE is the only fully two-way channel. You can send a member a message, and when they write back it arrives in the gym's shared inbox with their name attached, not just a nickname you have to guess at. Anyone on the team with permission can read it, answer it, archive it or delete it. The conversation does not die on one admin's phone.
WhatsApp Business and SMS through Twilio are part of the Max plan and go out only. They suit automatic messages you set up yourself, such as a warning before a pack expires, but the customer's reply does not come back into the system. Email carries receipts, documents and sign-in links. If your gym is in Thailand, the shortest route is to use LINE as your main channel and keep email for paperwork.
Built-in messages cover the whole booking journey: a booking confirmation, a cancellation, joining the waitlist, a freed seat, a reminder before class, a receipt and a payment request, plus pack start, pause and expiry, and closure announcements. Each can be switched on or off separately for LINE and for email.
The member area installs to the home screen but is not in the phone stores
Phone storage is a real limit for many customers, so we do not make an app that needs downloading.
MoveMembers has no app on the phone stores, and we do not hide it. The member area is a web app members can add to their home screen. The icon sits there like an app, opens full screen and does not use up the phone's storage the way a download does.
The other side of that is that with no native app there are no push notifications. Reminders travel through LINE or email instead. For members who live in LINE all day, that costs little: the reminder arrives in the chat they already read.
The first sign-in uses a link or a code sent by email. After that, a member can connect their LINE account to their profile once, and disconnect it whenever they like. Once linked, your messages reach them in LINE and their replies come back to your inbox, tied to the right person.
Seats, waitlist, booking window and cancellation cut-off
Set them once and let the system apply them, instead of deciding afresh every time somebody asks for an exception.
Every one of these values is yours, not a standard we set and locked. A Muay Thai camp that welcomes walk-ins will set a short booking window and a late cut-off. A studio whose evening classes fill every day will be much stricter. The system makes no decision for you. It applies the rule you set the same way to everybody, which is the part that costs friends when it is done by hand.
Seats
Set the maximum per class, and change one date only, for example a day the coach can take more or the floor is used for an event.
Automatic waitlist
A full class still takes a booking as a waitlist place. When somebody cancels, the first in line gets the seat and a message straight away.
Booking window
Decide how many days ahead booking opens, so nobody holds seats a month out and locks others out.
Cancellation cut-off
Set how many hours before class a member can still cancel and get the credit back. After that the class counts as used.
No-show policy
Write a policy, and a fee if you want one, for people who book and do not come. It becomes the gym's rule, not a negotiation at the desk.
Time between classes
Leave a gap between two back-to-back classes to reset the floor and meet the next group without overlap.
Messages go out from your gym's Official Account, not ours
Customers see your gym's name and picture, and feel they are talking to the gym rather than to software.
You connect your own LINE Official Account in the settings, with no support ticket needed. Every message therefore leaves your account, counts against your own LINE allowance and appears on your own LINE bill. If you stop using MoveMembers one day, the account and its followers are still yours.
Before anything is sent for real, you can test the connection. It tells you whether it works without sending a single message to a real member. There is one LINE Official Account per MoveMembers account, and messages are plain text up to 4,900 characters, with no images, stickers, buttons or rich menu. MoveMembers never creates anything on LINE's side for you: you bring your own Official Account and connect it.
- Connect your own LINE Official Account in settings
- Test the connection without writing to real members
- LINE is available from the free plan, not locked behind a bigger one
- Message templates, with the member's name, the class and the time filled in, and group messages to many members at once, are part of Pro
- Each member picks their own language, from 15 including Thai and English
Questions owners ask
Can members really book a class from a LINE chat?
They start there. You send the link to your member area in the chat, they tap it and the booking page opens inside LINE's browser. They pick a class and they are done, with no app to install. It is not a booking screen built into LINE itself, since there is no rich menu or LIFF screen.
If a member types a reply in LINE, does the gym see it?
Yes, because LINE is a two-way channel. What the member writes back arrives in the gym's shared inbox with their name attached. Team members with permission can open it, answer, archive or delete the conversation.
Do customers have to download an app from the phone stores?
No, and to be direct about it, MoveMembers has no app on the phone stores. The member area is a web app they can add to the home screen, where it opens full screen like an app. That also means no push notifications, so reminders arrive through LINE or email.
What happens once a class is full?
A full class takes the next booking as a waitlist place instead of overbooking. When somebody cancels or a seat opens up, the first in line is moved up automatically and gets a message straight away. Nobody has to chase the next name by hand.
How much can I set for booking and cancellation?
You can set seats per class, how many days ahead booking opens, how many hours before class a member can still cancel, a no-show policy and fee, and the gap between back-to-back classes. All of it is yours to set, and the system applies it the same way to everyone.
When is a credit taken off a pack?
At booking, and returned in full if the member cancels within the time you set. Members see their classes left in their own area all the time, so they do not need to message the desk to ask.
Do we use our own LINE account, or yours?
Your own. You connect your LINE Official Account in the settings, so messages go out in your gym's name and picture, count against your own LINE allowance and appear on your own bill. You can test the connection before using it for real, without sending anything to a member.
