How do I set up a check-in tablet at the entrance?

Check-in mode is a locked full screen for a tablet at the door, where members find their class and tap their own name.

Switch self check-in on first

Path: Settings › Member portal › Member self-booking › Kiosk and member options › Self check-in kiosk.

Check-in mode is off when you start. A gym with someone at the desk does not need a screen open to everyone, so the software does not assume you want one.

As long as the switch is off, Check-in simply does not appear in the Mode menu. Nothing is broken, the entry is just not there.

The switch used to live in the General tab and was moved. If a note sends you to General, this is where to look instead.

What the tablet shows

The first screen lists today's classes, each with its start time and how many people are expected against the capacity of that session.

Next to the list, a QR code opens your member space on a phone. It is a shortcut to the member area, not a scanner: the person still signs in there with their email and code. The QR disappears once a class is picked and comes back when you go back to the class list.

Check people in from the tablet

Path: Check-in mode › tap the class › tap the name › Check in.

Tapping a class opens the list of people expected, with a counter at the top showing how many are already in. Tapping a name opens a confirmation card with their membership status and any note on their file.

The search field above the list is only for people who are NOT on the list. Typing the name of someone already booked returns nothing, because they are in the list below.

Keep the tablet locked, and get back out

This screen has no menu, no header and no help button. There is one small cross at the top right.

Pressing it asks for the staff code when PIN login is on, in Settings › Security. That is deliberate: the tablet is left unattended, and a simple yes or no would protect nothing. With no PIN configured, it falls back to a confirmation, otherwise a gym could lock itself inside its own kiosk.

There is no sell button here. A till on an unattended screen is a cash drawer left open on the counter. Selling lives in Reception mode and on the Shop page.

The code protects the software, not the device. The tablet's own back gesture closes the mode. Use the guided access or pinned app feature of the tablet if you want a real lock.

What this screen cannot do

It only works on today, and only through a class. With no class scheduled today, nobody can be checked in from this screen.

It has no undo. If a name is tapped by mistake, leave the mode and correct it in Reception mode, which has Undo check-in.

It cannot create anyone. Only existing members appear in the search. A newcomer must be added first, from Reception mode or from the Members page.
