What can a member pay and download by themselves?

The balance, the shop tab, auto-pay and the documents a member can pull without asking you.

The short answer

The balance, the shop tab, auto-pay and the documents a member can pull without asking you.

Seeing the balance is free, paying it needs Stripe

When a member owes money, an Outstanding balance alert sits near the top of their space. Tapping it unfolds the detail, one line per membership.

With Stripe connected in Settings › Integrations, each line carries a Pay now button that opens Stripe Checkout. Without Stripe, the same line reads Pay at the gym, and the member still sees exactly what they owe and for what.

The balance is the price of a membership minus what is recorded as paid on it. Cash you took at the desk and never recorded keeps showing as due on the member's phone.

The shop tab

Unpaid front desk purchases appear as a Shop tab card with the total. With Stripe on, a Pay tab button settles the whole tab at once and the pending sales are marked paid by card. Without Stripe, the card asks them to settle at the gym.

Auto-pay has three conditions

A member sees Set up auto-pay on a membership only when all three are true: Stripe is connected, you turned on Let members set up auto-pay in Settings › Member portal, and that membership is a subscription plan with a price in your catalogue.

The switch is off by default. Nothing recurring is ever started behind your back. Once running, the row shows Auto-pay on with the next renewal date, plus Manage.

Manage opens Stripe's own billing page. Whatever the member does there, changing the card or stopping the subscription, happens on Stripe's side and comes back to you through the webhook.

Receipts and the waiver, self-service

My documents holds two rows. Payment history lists every payment recorded as paid, newest first, each with a download button that produces a PDF receipt. Waiver shows the text, the signature date and the signature image, with a PDF download, and offers to sign on the spot if it is not signed.

Only payments with the status paid are listed. A refund appears with a minus sign. Anything still pending is invisible to the member. And the downloaded PDF carries no tax line, no numbering prefix and no footer note: for a tax receipt, the emailed one is the document that has them.

What happens after a card payment

Back from Stripe, the space shows a thank-you message and refreshes itself. The payment is recorded on the member and a receipt email is sent.

If the payment is confirmed twice, only one receipt goes out and the amount is never counted twice. The amount credited is capped at what was actually owed.
