Where do I start?

The four things to set up before anything else, in the order that avoids doing the work twice.

The short answer

The four things to set up before anything else, in the order that avoids doing the work twice.

Steps

  1. 1
Settings › Memberships: create one plan per offer you actually sell, with its price and its length in days.
  2. 2
Members › Import: bring in your existing list, or add the first members by hand.
  3. 3
Classes › New class: create your weekly timetable, one class per recurring slot.
  4. 4
Settings › Messaging: switch on the automatic messages you want members to receive.

Set your plans before adding members

A membership only knows when it ends if the plan you sold carries a length in days. Create your plans first, and every member you add afterwards gets a real end date, a renewal reminder and a place in the Expiring tab.

Add members after that, by hand or with the CSV import. Their history starts on the day you add them, so there is no rush to backfill the past.

Set your plans before adding members
The dashboard once your business is running: what needs attention today, and nothing else.
Do this in this order. Members added before the plans exist keep no end date, and you have to open each profile again to fix it.

What you can leave for later

Online booking, the check-in tablet, automations and the shop all work on top of that base. None of them is needed to open the software and take a payment on day one.

The member space is included in every plan, free one included, so you can hand out your link as soon as your classes are in.
